You can host your web site with us. Our hosting services include multiple email accounts, webmail access, email forwarding, site statistics, as well as a WordPress weblog or a phpBB Forum.

A weblog can be used in new creative ways. They can be configured to act as news pages that you, the owner, can use to update from anywhere in the world. Access can be limited to as many users as you like. A couple of examples of these are the Team Mata News page and the Warrior's Society Voices announcements page. We customize the blog to fit with the look and feel of your web site.

If you elect to have The Other Room design your website we will host your site for the first year at no charge.

DOMAIN REGISTRATION

We highly recommend that you handle your own domain registration because the ownership of the domain name is established by way of the domain name registration. There are a number of reputable domain registrars out there like Pacific Root and Go Daddy that you can use. If we are going to host your web site we will furnish you with the domain name servers (DNS) as needed.

If you prefer we can also handle the registration of your domain. When we register domains you will be listed as the "Registrant" so you will always be the official owner of the domain.

IMAGE-BASED

These are examples of what we consider "image sites." The look and feel of these sites is just as important as their content. For recording artists, a web site generally mirrors the artwork of their current release. The Hutchins Consort is a regularly performing string octet. The client's goal was to communicate a classy, professional image while serving as a successful marketing tool. The site contains a schedule of performances, audio excerpts, a list of products for sale and an explanation of the unique instruments they use.
The Cristina Music web site showcases the composing and arranging work of Joe Cristina. The site presents rich multimedia content with a clean design and a simple, yet effective Flash introduction. This site has become an effective calling card to help the composer attract the attention of potential new clients.
The Third Door Down site is an example of extending the graphical theme of the CD artwork to create a memorable visual experience for the visitor.

LEVERAGED WEB TECHNOLOGY

The San Onofre Foundation website was built on top of the Joomla open source content management system. An extensive custom theme was developed that gives the site a unique and striking identity. The administration of the content of the site is performed entirely by the staff of the foundation without requiring any help from a web designer.

The Team Mata site represents a professional mountain biker, Monique "Pua" Sawicki. The site uses two open source software packages, the phpBB message board and the WordPress weblog. By making some custom programming modifications, we were able to make the software work exactly as desired and blended them perfectly with the rest of the site. The weblog is used for the News page, and the Keiki Team (kids team) which allows the team to post updates from anywhere in the world using just a web browser. The message board is used as a place for Monique to interact with fans by answering questions and giving advice.

FLASH

Here are some examples of our Flash programming work. For the Wheeler site we wanted to produce an immersive virtual environment that captured the spirit of the music, artwork, and writing of the artist. It was created entirely with ActionScript programming in Flash.
Geoff Sumich Design wanted a web site that would showcase their architectural projects. The site needed to remain invisible to allow for the imagry to tell the story. Updates to this site are accomplished simply by uploading new images to the server. The code will find those images and present the content.

BUSINESS

Not all web site projects should be complex multimedia pieces. Here are two examples of web sites we've developed to present a professional look while maintaining a polished appearance. In doing so, the graphics gently complement the identity of the business to enable the client to feel comfortable.

The focus for sites such as these is primarily on the conveying the desired message. A visitor must be able to quickly see all you have to offer and still easily navigate to more content, if desired.

MY SPACE CUSTOMIZATION

We also have the ability do the coding to customize your myspace page. With the vast number of bands on myspace it's important to set yourself apart by having a page that stands out from the crowd.

Like any creative endeavor you can save time and money by being focused and having a good idea of what you want. The first thing you need to do is create content for your site. Start with an outline and develop the text and items you want to include. Once you have the content, we can start working on the structure and the appearance of the site.

We start by doing a visual mockup of your home page. Then we create a sample of subsequent pages and design the page to page navigation. After approval of the mockups, the graphics are prepared and the HTML code is written. As your site is developed, the technical side will progress smoothly while you remain an integral part of the creative process.
