Information for Recipients of Egg Donation
Why use donor eggs? What is egg donation all about?
Egg donation offers the possibility of childbearing to couples who are not able to produce eggs.
This would include situations where the ovaries are absent, or cases of ovaries that do not
reliably produce eggs that can be fertilized, for example, due to premature ovarian failure.
Women may have had their ovaries removed due to endometriosis, or pelvic infection or may have
had their ovaries damaged by chemotherapy or radiation. These women would be candidates for egg
donation. A single individual may seek an egg donor to complete his/her surrogacy.
An egg donor can be either a known donor or anonymous. All egg donors are screened by the
physician prior to acceptance into the IVF program. Each prospective donor is screened for
genetic diseases, hepatitis B & C, HIV, syphilis and Rh incompatibility. There is also a
psychological evaluation. Donors accepted are under age 34.
Once you have obtained your password, you can view our prospective egg donors. We will assist
you in matching you with a potential egg donor.

Information for Recipients of Surrogacy
Who needs a surrogate?
Surrogates may be considered by:
- Women born without a uterus
- A woman who has had a hysterectomy
- A woman whose uterus is malformed
- For a woman if the pregnancy would be life threatening
- For a woman without ovaries or usable eggs (traditional surrogacy)
- For a woman who has a genetic disease that maybe transmitted to her child.
- A single parent
In gestational surrogacy, the embryos are formed, and transferred to the surrogate. The
surrogate has no genetic link to the child she is carrying. The embryos maybe formed with the
couples genetic material, or with donor eggs/sperm.
In traditional surrogacy, the surrogate is inseminated with sperm from the recipient. The
surrogate is therefore genetically related to the child she is carrying.
We have a number of surrogates available for you to preview on our secure website. Once you
have secured a password, you may review the information on these surrogates. We have both
traditional and gestational surrogates available for preview. After you have previewed the
information and are prepared to make the commitment to the surrogate, we will arrange for a
meeting between you and the surrogate. Each surrogate is a dedicated and caring woman committed
to giving life to a childless couple.
